The Centre also serves as a base for two chaplains who are appointed by the participating societies Apostleship of the Sea and The Mission to seafarers.

The Centre runs a mini bus shuttle within the Port of Felixstowe to transfer the seafarers from their ships to the centre and return. Other services includes a foreign currency service with US Dollars and Euros at very competitive rates plus a conference room for hire from Monday to Sunday between 1000 hrs to 2200 hrs – payment by donation – as well as tea and coffee making facilities.

These services are available to the general public – you are always welcome to visit the Centre to see at first hand the work they do.

Dear All,

Thank you…

Thank you for raising an amazing £3,500.00 to The Ipswich Hospital Children’s Appeal. You are all a true inspiration!! With your support we are getting closer to our dream of creating a £2.5 million new look Children’s Department here at Ipswich Hospital.

Your donation will help children like Forrest, here’s his story from his Mum May…

“We’re regular visitors to the children’s department and come in every few months for Forrest’s outpatient appointments, as well as during periods of inpatient admission. The staff have been brilliant and really supportive, and the care he receives for his cystic fibrosis is absolutely excellent. But the environment doesn’t come up to the same standards and really needs enhancing.

Staying physically active is really important for people with cystic fibrosis, but it is difficult for Forrest to get the exercise he needs when he is admitted as the garden isn’t really appropriate for him.

We are really keen to see it upgraded and Forrest has even told us he wants to sell his toys to help pay for it as he’s desperate to be able to play in that outside space.

Because of his illness, Forrest can’t access the playroom with the other children as he’s so prone to infection. I know the staff are planning multi-play break out areas as part of the refurbishment, which would be absolutely brilliant and would make such a difference.

Forrest has never complained about going into hospital – it’s become part of life. But there are things which could make it easier, like providing more DVDs or games to keep him entertained while we’re waiting for appointments. The improvements can’t come soon enough and we want to do whatever we can to help.”

Anything which could make your child’s admission easier would be great”

With your help we are planning to create a bright and airy Children’s Department, this will include extra clinic rooms, refurbished outside play area, increased en-suite rooms, more space for parents to stay, a dedicated teenage area and so much more!
